Project No. 4
CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE OVER THE RENG RIVER
The Bushimaie area is watered by numerous rivers that sometimes constitute a barrier to communication and the free movement of people and basic necessities, not to mention access to health care and education for children.
So the RENG River between the Yangala and Tshibaka settlements forces people to make a big detour or follow makeshift routes to cross the river with the dangers that this represents.
Objectives:
- Bringing people and villages out of isolation
- Open communication with other villages and groups
- Supplying urban centres with agricultural products
- Facilitating market access for basic necessities that are lacking in villages
- Providing children with the opportunity to attend better schools
- Evacuating the sick to better equipped health centers
- Allowing pregnant women to give birth in a suitable environment
- Save time by avoiding a 70 km detour
- Shortening distances and bringing people closer together
